If reports of Samsung entering the education tablet fray are true, it would be the biggest player to enter the market with a dedicated device.
According MovePlayer, Samsung is planning a special version of its Galaxy Tab 3 for kids that could launch in Korea next month. No word on when or if a U.S. version might be available.
Like the current version of Galaxy Tab 3, the new tablet has a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software.
But this special kids' version will also include a removable, rugged bumper case and what appears to be a custom user interface designed for kids.
