The new Android app (version 3.0) boasts a new user interface design for tablets which makes use of the additional screen estate, and is said to have been optimized for Android tablets including the Galaxy Tab 2, Nexus 7, the Transformer Prime and a handful of others.

The update also brings about the new ability to sign in with your Microsoft quality and improved audio quality thanks to support for SILK, the wideband audio codec which aims to make the human voice clearer and crisper.

At the same time, the VoIP giant also detailed that it has updated its Windows 8 app (which also runs on Windows RT tablets). The app now supports people and group searches, improved video and a handful of bug fixes, as well as the new ability to call Live Messenger contacts.

Both apps are free and are now available from Google Play and the Windows Store, respectively.
