Best New Tablet Games: the Duke returns, Joe gets dangerous, and a double dose of Windows games

by Mike Rougeau

January 10 2014

Even the insanity of CES 2014 couldn't stop these tablet game developers from doing their thing.

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, a shooter with a blend of styles that was originally released in 2002, may be the most recognizable new tablet game released this week. But that doesn't mean it's the best.

That honor may go to Joe Danger Infinity, the endless follow-up in Hello Games' fun physics-based mobile series.

And Windows 8 tablets got not one, but two new releases this week (sort of): the brand new Microsoft-approved puzzle game Throne Together, and the terrifying first-person runner Into the Dead, which was previously released on other platforms but only just came to Windows 8 tablets.

Besides that, simian.interface is a stylish-looking abstract puzzle game, Rail Racing is another driving game from the developers of the fun Reckless Racing, and RoboCop is a decent-looking licensed game that ties into the film being released in February.

Castle Doombad is another "reverse tower defense" game. Archangel is a Diablo-alike. And Battle Supremacy is a WWII-era tank battle game.
