The app is free to download from the Apple App Store and offers an array of useful features — from ultra wideband 44kHz audio that “feels like you’re in a recording studio” and video at 60 frames per second to the ability to take part in group discussions.
As with Google Hangouts, Spin lets users connect with up to ten people in “Gatherings” and these people can in turn import and share their photos and videos from Facebook, YouTube or the iPad’s camera roll.
Users can invite others by dragging their friend’s avatar into the discussion or alternatively by sending out “Spinvitatons”.
Aside the applauded audio and video quality, one other feature bound to impress business folk is the collection of user controls. For example, one user could decide to set different volume levels for different participants, or perhaps doodle on a submitted photo or rewind an included video.
