Microsoft has officially started selling the Surface Book with Performance Base 2-in-1 notebook. The higher-end version of 2015’s Surface Book is available for immediate shipping from the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft first revealed the beefed up version of the Surface Book at its October press event. This version includes a more powerful edition of Intel’s 6th generation Core i7 processor compared to last year’s version of the notebook. It also has a larger battery that is supposed to last up to 16 hours, compared to just 12 hours for the 2015 edition.
Microsoft is selling the Surface Book with Performance Base starting at $2,399, which includes 256GB of onboard storage and 8GB of RAM. You can also upgrade to a model that has 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM for $2,799. Finally, you can get the notebook with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM for $3,299, although that model won’t actually start shipping until November 28. All three models have a dedicated GPU as well.
Microsoft is rumored to launch an all-new version of the Surface Book sometime in the spring of 2017, with Intel’s 7th generation Core processors inside.
