The carrier said starting November 1 it will offer the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display that have Wi-Fi + cellular 200 MB of free 4G LTE data every month for as long as they own their iPad, even if they aren’t yet a T-Mobile customer.
T-Mobile said it also plans to sell the new iPads on a payment plan with no money down. The company already offers a range of connectivity options including daily, weekly and monthly options for 4G LTE data.
A daily pass that includes unlimited data with 500 MB of 4G LTE data starts at $5.
The iPad Air is slated to go on sale November 1 with the iPad mini with Retina display on sale later in the month. T-Mobile says the introductory price of $0 down on the iPad Air requires 24 equal monthly payments of $22.08 for the 16 GB model or $17.91 monthly for the iPad mini with Retina display (plus taxes and fees for both).
T-Mobile says it also plans to offer a trade-in program for older iPads including Wi-Fi only models.
