Developers have responded positively to the first-of-its-kind tablet app competition, the TabbyAwards, announced last month, with entries filling up for all categories.
A full list of categories (including Productivity, Collaboration, Education, Finance, Retail and more) is available at the TabbyAwards website.
The Tabby Awards will recognize the best tablet apps for iPad, Android and Windows 8 tablets based on specific features and utility. Judging will be performed by a panel of tablet professionals and the competition will be open to both native apps and web apps from developers worldwide.
Consumer and Business apps will be evaluated by two separate panels, with the Business category representing the focus of this year’s first round.
The Business panel will review all apps geared for business people or developed for organizational purposes. The panel includes 12 accomplished tablet professionals and is chaired by Alan Maserek, ex-CEO and co-founder of QuickOffice, the best-selling iPad app in the App Store’s Business category.
How to enter and awards ceremony
The winning apps will be revealed at a special Tabby Awards ceremony at the TabletBiz conference & expo in New York City on November 27. The award was created by TabTimes, the B2B media company covering the tablet industry.
The deadline for submitting apps is Monday, October 22 at 11:59 pm EST.
