Tablet adoption to send mobility management revenue sky-high

The forecast comes from ABI Research, which says that these enterprise mobility management services include services to manage mobile apps, devices, network services, expenses, policy and security.

"Suppliers are adding enterprise mobility management services to their portfolio because of new revenue and services opportunities”, said Dan Shey, practice director of mobile services for ABI Research. "But they are also jumping in out of fear”.

ABI Research said that the services opportunity is down to the growing penetration of smartphones and tablets in enterprise, with penetration of these mobile devices set to grow to 85% of all employees and 95% of corporate-liable employees by 2016.
 
The researcher has admitted that there is a fear of disintermediation in enterprise, especially if the supplier does not have a complete mobile solution for the enterprise.
 
However, ABI Research believes that businesses will look to consolidate with one or two suppliers, for enterprise mobility management service and also for managing all mobile systems and end-points, including notebooks, PCs and appliances.
 
But with expansion also comes consolidation. "Expect more consolidation of the MDM platform vendor channel, with the major delivery channels becoming enterprise ICT vendors, operators, device OEMs, and a group of other business-focused software and services vendors such as MSPs and major resellers”, added Shey.
 
“The SMB market is still untapped, so the groups that succeed moving forward are those that can serve both the large business and SMB markets”.
