Despite only having launched last January in bid to bring Office document viewing and editing to Apple iPads and Android tablets, CloudOn CEO Gadekar spelled out just how far the company has come in a recent interview with VentureBeat.
“We’ve been growing phenomenally well. We’ve grown to over 4.5 million users in the past 16 months, so I think we’ve grown faster than companies like Dropbox, Evernote, Yammer and Box,” said Gadekar.
The CEO went onto add that the firm will bring “additional capabilities” to CloudOn this summer, with these in particular revolving around better sharing to other cloud platforms (like Google Drive, Evernote and Box).
CloudOn debuted with an iPad app before coming to Android but has previously reported that 95% of its users come from iOS. The firm also gets a push from the bring-your-own-device trend with 80% of its users signing up to the service with personal email addresses.
