iMovie rival is temporarily offering free video editing for the iPad

Avid Studio for iPad debuted back in February, but was recently rebranded to Pinnacle Studio for iPad when Avid sold off its consumer business to Corel.

Since then, the editing app has collected a handful of new features, including 1080p support (previously 720p) and Box integration, which means users can upload quickly and easily to the cloud service.

The most notable improvement though is that the app is now being offered for free, and not at its usual price of $4.99.

Corel isn't saying how long the app will continue to be offered for free, but does note that it's only a "limited time" offer.
