Mobile business apps were worth $25 billion last year; will be worth almost double that by 2017

In a new report, the research firm says that more than 200 million mobile workers will be using mobile business apps in 2013, and predicts that the revenue associated with these mobile business apps will increase from $25 billion in 2012 to almost $50 billion by the end of 2017.

"The consumer mobile experience has taught mobile workers to expect, even demand, access to information and applications from anywhere using mobile devices," said Mark Levitt, director of business cloud strategies at Strategy Analytics.

Citrix makes major MDM play with Zenprise acquisition

Citrix says it plans to integrate the Zenprise solution into its Citrix CloudGateway and Me@Work solutions for managing mobile apps and data.

The company claims the combination will give Citrix the first solution in the industry for managing mobile devices, apps and data from a single, integrated enterprise mobility product line.
