Logitech announces four new accessories for Apple’s iPad Air

The FabricSkin Keyboard Folio, Ultrathin Keyboard Cover, Ultrathin Keyboard Folio and Folio Protective Case are all designed to fit the iPad Air and are due to launch starting from next month.  The tablet itself is expected to hit U.S. retail stores on November 1.

The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio costs $99 and offers an integrated Bluetooth keyboard, stand and battery (which can last for up to three months). The aluminium Ultrathin Keyboard Cover comes in at the same price but lets users dock the iPad and use the cover as a stand.

The Folio Protective Case is predictably markedly cheaper at $49.99 as it doesn’t come with a keyboard, although it does sport an [...]

Zagg & Kensington the first accessory makers to jump aboard the iPad Air

In the same week as Apple launched the iPad Air and Retina Display iPad mini, leading accessory makers Zagg and Kensington unleashed their first products for the new 9.7-inch Apple tablet.

Zagg’s products include the ZAGGkeys Folio and Cover at $99.99 apiece, while there is also the option to buy the ZAGG invisbleSHIELD (34.99 and up) and covers and headphones from the firm’s iFrogz brand.

Kensington also has a selection of new products for the tablet and says that they are equally adept at being used by consumers or business folk. The firm’s Comercio range ($39.99) is an array of colourful hard and soft cases for the iPad Air, while the [...]

ZAGG touts ‘most versatile Bluetooth keyboard’ for iPad mini

ZAGG unwrapped two thin, Bluetooth keyboard accessories for the iPad mini at the CTIA conference today.

The accessory maker calls the ZAGGkeys Cover ($99.99) “the most versatile Bluetooth keyboard on the market”. It’s only 6.3mm thick and features backlit keys, a built-in battery that offers three months of normal use before charging, a metal closure and a flexible hinge for multiple viewing angles. It also reverses so users can enjoy “convenient, one-piece reading and playing mode”.

The ZAGGkeys Folio keyboard and case combo (also $99.99) is the thinnest folio available at 6.9mm thick, but it still offers full body protection. Both [...]

ZAGG readies new Pro line of iPad keyboard accessories

The latest accessories use a magnetic closure designed to better secure the iPad and protect it from scratches and smudges.

ZAGG says the new “ultra-thin” Bluetooth keyboard accessories feature a patented keyboard design that provides a natural typing experience in a compact layout. The keyboard also includes dedicated function keys for specific common tasks such as copying and pasting, controlling the music functions, adjusting the volume, locking the screen, going to the home screen, and opening a search.

A distinct new feature in the ZAGGkeys PRO Plus is a backlighting option users can activate that makes the keyboard easy to see in a dark [...]

ZAGGsparq 2.0 review: A nearly perfect mobile charging solution

That said, the 8.6-once high-capacity battery pack has more than enough tricks up its sleeve to make hauling it around worth the effort.

Boasting two USB ports and a built in wall plug, the ZAGGsparq 2.0 can be used as a USB power adapter to charge a tablet and smartphone or other low powered gadget at the same time. Or, when a power source is unavailable, you can recharge your hardware with its 6 amp-hour capacity battery.

Testing it with our iPad 2, we found that we were able to pull an additional 5.5 hours of video playback out of the tablet when connected to the ZAGGsparq–an impressive amount of backup power to say the least.

A series of LED lights on [...]

ZAGG Folio review: An ideal keyboard-case combo

While constructed entirely of plastic, the ZAGGfolio provides a reasonable amount of protection for your tablet when the case is closed as well as a firm, stable typing experience when opened.

The ZAGGfolio’s keyboard, while no longer than the iPad 2 itself, provides a cramped, but comfortable typing experience, with a respectable amount of key travel. While the keys themselves are smaller than we'd have liked, we had no trouble touch-typing after a few minutes of trial and error.

The keyboard includes a number of iPad-specific shortcut commands and directional keys that saved us from having to interact with our iPad's touchscreen while typing. It [...]
