TellTale announced first Tales from the Borderlands, and then Game of Thrones, during the Spike TV Video Game Experience (VGX) livestream event on Dec. 7. The first is based on the 2K Games and Gearbox console video game series Borderlands, while the latter follows the popular HBO television series Game of Thrones (which itself is based on the George R.R. Martin book series A Song of Ice and Fire).

If TellTale's past releases are anything to go by, it's likely that both new series will be released on tablets.

The Borderlands game will explore the planet of Pandora in a new story with new and existing characters. Borderlands and its sequel, Borderlands 2, are known for their good comedic writing and memorable characters, but this is the first time for the series that story will be the focus.

The Game of Thrones game, on the other hand, is still in early stages—TellTale hasn't even determined which of the series' many characters the game will focus on, according to the developer's statements during the VGX event.

In the above videos gaming personality Geoff Keighley attempts to eke a tad more info about these two game series from the developers while comedian and Community actor Joel McHale makes bad jokes.

TellTale Games has earned renown and praise for its adventure game series, in particular the five-episode tale based on the comics and TV show The Walking Dead, as well as the just-released The Wolf Among Us, based on the Fables comics series.
