Update Spotify for better sound quality & full Ice Cream Sandwich support

June 13, 2012

Music fans take note: Spotify for Android has been updated, and this one is well worth the download. The latest version features full support for Android 4.0, better known as Ice Cream Sandwich.

Additionally, the update includes a raft of tweaks that will make serious music fans happy, including 320kbps streaming capabilities, settings for crossfading tracks and gapless playback, and support for playlist folders. Also included are more robust sharing options and Last.fm scrobbling.

The app is free in the Google Play store, but for streaming access to Spotify's catalog of more than 15 million tracks, a $9.99 monthly Premium account is required. New users can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Spotify Premium at spotify.com.
