The Post’s iPad app includes access to a 14-day archive of articles, over 40 comic strips, all Post blogs as well as video, photo galleries, new search functionality and offline reading capability.

Another feature, The Forum, is a tool designed to help iPad users  identify, organize and customize conversations on Twitter.

Like the earlier version, the iPad app is free for now, though Executive Editor Marty Baron said that will change this summer when it becomes part of the Post’s new digital subscription model.

Online publishers are struggling to find new revenue models beyond advertising such as paywalls. The New York Times, for example, offers free access to ten articles per month and different subscription plans to read more.
