"It all started a long time ago, in a world that was completely made up. A fantasy piggy island where silly costumes were fashionable, and weapons were—how to put it?—different."
That's how Rovio describes the new Angry Birds game's setting in the first gameplay trailer, embedded below. Does that mean the Angry Birds are LARPing (live action role-playing), like that lightning bolt guy or McLovin' in that one movie? Or is it just a meta description of the game's actual fantasy world?
You can ask someone in Canada, Australia or New Zealand for the truth, since Angry Birds Epic has officially soft-launched in those countries. Rovio says fans elsewhere "still have to wait a bit more—but not too long." For now check out the gameplay footage in this trailer and ponder the idea of a turn-based RPG based on Angry Birds.
