“Jeff 'Winfrey' Weiner decided to give every [LinkedIn] employee an iPad mini today as a special reward for our recent results," said Grishaver, who works on the company's marketing solutions team.
Another spokesman later revealed that each full-time employee (there are 3,458 in total) will be getting a 32GB 7.85-inch iPad mini in white or black, and said that it was a “small gesture of the company’s gratitude” for recent results.
Just last week the firm reported that its fourth quarter revenue rose to $303.6 million, with income settling at $11.5 million. The results beat analyst forecasts and have also helped boost the company’s share price ever since.
That wasn’t the only good bit of news coming out of LinkedIn early this year with the social network also recently noting that it now has more than 200 million users.
Business Insider reports that Weiner may have got the idea for the move from YouSendIt CEO Brad Garlinghouse. The pair worked together at Yahoo, with Garlinghouse giving iPad minis to all YouSendIt employees over the holidays.
