After a few weeks of public beta test versions, Apple is now rolling out iOS 10.2 as an over-the-air update for its iPhone and iPad family of devices. The latest version of the mobile OS has quite a few new features and improvements, chief among them being a new TV app for the US market.
The TV app is supposed to offer users a way to access TV shows and movies across multiple iOS video apps. It will also offer recommendations for users to check out new TV episodes and films. The app lets users check their local iTunes video library for their film and TV show purchases and rentals.
Over 100 new emoji have been added in iOS 10.2, including “new faces, food, animals, sports, and professions” and the level of detail in those emoji has also gotten a facelift as well. Photographers will be happy with some of the Photo improvements in this update. It includes new support for RAW digital cameras, along with improvements in both stabilization and frame rates for Live Photos, and much more.
The Messages app can now handle love and celebration full screen effects with the iOS 10.2 update, while the News app now has a Saved section that lets users check out any stories they have saved for later. There are lots of other smaller new features, improvements and bug fixes in iOS 10.2 , including three new official wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners.
